Here's an old email exchange between myself(seller) and someone on Craigslist(potential buyer) I guess for you to get the full effect you need to know that I was selling two tickets for $40ea to see The Hangover at Red Rocks. Face value on tickets are $10ea. I was given them for free, and decided not to go because it looked like it was going to storm. I checked Craigslist and noticed they were selling for over $50 per ticket. I figured why not get what they're worth. I posted them, and within 10 minutes I literally had 20 people respond. I'd never seen anything like it. Below is one of those who responded. Needless to say, she didn't get my tickets.
Her: Ummm, didn't you pay $10 each for them???
Me: Actually no. I got them for free, and I'm basing my prices on a little thing I learned back in gradeschool consumer ed called supply and demand. I've had over 20 inquiries in less than an hour. Thanks for your concern, however I'm not sure now to make it 21 inquiries or to keep it at 20. Maybe you're only worth .5 of an inquiry so we'll call it 20.5.
Her: It's clear that you are all about raking people over the coals and scoring yourself some brownie points (and that they were FREE to you, makes it even worse). So put me down for ZERO in your inquiry tally as I want nothing to do with being associated with what this country has too much of....CAPITALISM AND CORPORATE GREED!!!!! Good luck with that!
